Modern wallpaper is removable when installed correctly. Proper wall prep and the right adhesive for the wallpaper type means it comes off clean without damaging the wall.

Problems happen when shortcuts are taken, poor prep, wrong adhesive, or inexperienced installers can cause wallpaper to bond directly to the surface.

Removal can then pull plaster or plasterboard with it, leading to costly repairs.

Wallpaper is far less forgiving than paint. One mistake often means ordering another roll, and reorders can add weeks, cause batch mismatches, or involve discontinued stock.

With complex patterns and large repeats, it's easy to cut short, misalign a drop, or cause damage that can't be undone. A lot of the jobs we're called to fix on the Gold Coast are failed DIY attempts.

Correct prep and planning matter. Unlevel walls and out of square corners will throw patterns out if they aren't accounted for early. And no two wallpapers are the same adhesives, soak times, and methods vary. Instructions are often unclear or wrong, and following them blindly can cause bubbles, shrinkage, or seam failure.

Professionally installed wallpaper looks boutique. DIY installation looks obvious. That's why we don't take shortcuts, we install to the material, not the clock, so it's done once and done right.

Wallpaper isn't going anywhere. The dated reputation comes from certain 80s and 90s patterns, not wallpaper itself.

For smaller jobs like single walls, pricing typically starts with a minimum call out fee. Larger projects are quoted per roll or per square metre after assessing the walls and materials.

Wall size and ceiling height are the biggest cost factors. Rooms with high ceilings, stairwells, or multiple walls take more time, precision, and equipment than a standard feature wall.

Wall condition is important. Proper preparation ensures the best result. We assess this during quoting and allow for any preparation where needed.

Architectural features like raked ceilings, staircases, archways, windows, and built ins require extra precision to ensure a clean, seamless finish.

For wallpaper to look its best, walls need to be smooth, sealed, and one consistent colour before we start. Wallpaper doesn't hide imperfections, dents, ridges and patchy paint will all show through once it's installed.
